Spectator Information

The following information provides details on the format of the California Amateur Championship and important details regarding parking, concessions, and policies to remember when visiting Rancho Santa Fe GC and La Jolla CC.

Championship format

Mon., June 21
18 holes of stroke play at both Rancho Santa Fe GC and La Jolla CC with 78 players per course. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. in groups of three off tee number one.
Tues., June 22
18 holes of stroke play at both Rancho Santa Fe GC and La Jolla CC with 78 players per course. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. in groups of three off tee number one. PLAYOFF:Following play at both courses a playoff will take place for the 32nd spot at Rancho Santa Fe GC. Players finishing their second round at La Jolla CC should immediately return to Rancho Santa Fe GC.
Wed., June 23
The first round of match play will take place with 32 players starting at 7:30 a.m. in groups of two off tee number one.
Thurs., June 24
The second round of match play will take place with 16 players starting at 7:30 a.m. in groups of two off tee number one.
Fri., June 25

quarter‐final matches will take place with eight players starting at 7:30 a.m. in groups of two off tee number one. The semi‐final matches will take place with four players starting at 1:00 p.m. in groups of two off tee number one.

Sat., June 26
The 36‐hole final match will take place starting at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The awards ceremony will commence immediately afterward.

Dress Code
VERY IMPORTANT, APPLIES TO ALL PLAYERS, CADDIES AND SPECTATORS.The following dress code is in effect for all players, caddies and spectators (friends, family members, guests, etc.):

Men/Boys: contestants, caddies and spectators must be properly attired on the grounds and in the buildings. Proper attire is considered to be slacks or Bermuda‐type shorts (no higher than 5 inches above the center of the front of the knee and no longer than 21 inches in total length), golf shirts with sleeves and collars, and sweaters. Shirttails must be tucked inside pants. Headwear, caps and visors shall be worn with bills positioned forward and must be removed when entering the clubhouse. Non‐metal (soft spikes) golf shoes are required.

Ladies/Girls: Tailored slacks, skirts, dresses, split skirts, Bermuda‐type shorts, capris, and appropriate shirts or sweaters are appropriate golf attire. Skirts, shorts and dresses are not to exceed 4 inches from the top of the knee. Caps and visors are to be worn bill forward.

NOT PERMITTED: Appropriate dress does not include: collarless t‐shirts or shirts with large printing on back, cut‐offs, blue jeans or denim of any color or brand, etc., cargo pants or cargo shorts (cargo pockets, back flap and side pockets), baggy or grunge‐style clothing, jogging suits, leggings, drawstring or elastic waistband pants or shorts, halter or strapless tops, tube tops, bare or exposed midriffs, t‐shirts, undershirts, tank tops or other extreme cut‐away tops, stretch pants, tennis/swimming/running attire, single‐toed thongs (flip‐flops, go‐aheads), or metal spiked shoes.

A player or caddie violating this dress code will not be permitted to start the competition. If during play the dress code is violated by either the player or his caddie the violation must be rectified without undue delay or the player will not continue to play and the caddie will not be allowed to perform the acts of a caddie. Spectators in violation will be asked to rectify their situation as well or will have to leave the property.

Food and Beverage
Caddies, family, friends and spectators will have access to purchase the “players” breakfast and lunch at each club. Each club will accept cash purchases only. The snack bar at each course will also be available for cash purchases. The snack bars at each course are located at the 10th tees.

Parking
Ample parking is available for players and spectators at each club. At Rancho Santa Fe GC players, caddies and spectators should park in the upper lot (first right upon entering the parking lot).

Cell Phones
The use of cell phones for making phone calls, answering calls, texting, emailing, etc. is not permitted on each course, the clubhouses, or practice facilities. Please use your cell phone in your car only.

Other
All spectators must adhere to the dress code and cell phone policies listed above. Spectators will not have access to the locker rooms in the clubhouse. Restrooms at La Jolla CC are located at #7 tee, #10 tee (snack bar), #12 fairway and #14 tee. Restrooms at Rancho Santa Fe GC are located at #2 tee, #6 tee, #10 tee (snack bar) and #16 tee.
